Swedish - muscle relaxing movements that includes gliding, kneading, friction, and tapotement (light tapping) of muscles. Massage oil and/or lotion is used in this modality.
Deep Tissue - focuses on deeper layers of muscle tissue. It releases chronic patterns of tension. It can be uncomfortable and even painful, but the results can be astounding.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the duration of a session? My sessions generally last one hour. In some cases, the session may last a little longer. One hour to me is not fifty minutes. Hot stone therapy will last about an hour and a half. There also may be a consultation after the session.
Do I have to remove my clothes? Most massage modalities require that a client’s skin and muscles are unimpeded. You may undress to your comfort level. You will be covered by a sheet and the only part that is exposed is the body part that is being massaged.
What forms of payment do you accept? I accept cash or checks. There is a twenty dollar service charge on returned checks.
Do you accept insurance? No, but I can supply you with an invoice of payment to forward to your insurance company.
What should I expect from a massage? That depends on the type of massage and what the client needs. In general, after a massage you should feel relaxed and calm. If your session required deeper tissue work on specific areas, your may experience some soreness. This may last for a day or two but will subside.
What should I do after a massage? You should relax and do nothing that is strenuous. Also, drink plenty of water to flush the toxins and adhesions that the massage has released.
How frequently should I get a massage? Frequency depends on many factors including specific condition, program, and economics. Clients’ appointments range from weekly, twice a month, once a month, and every six weeks. My advice is to get a massage at least once a month.
